Commission

Jesus commissions us with the spread of the news about his saving grace and to teach what he taught. People and things are commissioned when they are dedicated for use toward a specific purpose. They are often decommissioned when that purpose is fulfilled. However, Jesus gives no such decommissioning. We remain commissioned for the purpose he gave to his disciples before he ascended into heaven.
